Random Reality "Celebrity" Sightings

Oh the people you'll meet while shopping for a Halloween costume in New York.
While looking for fake teeth in K-Mart, I ran into Keenyah from Top Model Season 4. Some crazy black girl was asking Keenyah to sign her arm. What's funny is my first thought was to ask her how Brittany was doing.

While in Union Square, I saw Ronnie, from Make Me a Supermodel

Oh lordy, he's sooooo hot.

Walking home from the train I got checked out by Andy Cohen, President at Bravo.

I have a not so secret crush on him.

And now a legit celebrity sighting. Last week while walking home drunk from HK Lounge, the group and I passed by Sean Palmer, Marcus from "Sex and the City" and currently starring as Prince Eric in "The Little Mermaid." I saw him and I YELLED "It's Sean Palmer!!! It's Marcus! Marcus!" Not my finest moment.

Dun Dun Dunnnnn....

What do you get when you put on a Speedo

Fugly teeth
Flip Flops

Gold Medals

And swimmer goggles?

You get Phelps. Brian dressed as Phelps.

That's right people, tonight is the night---Brian dressed as Michael Phelps for Halloween!. Hold onto your hats, fat man is crossing the street in a Speedo!

Happy Birthday to.....

I'd like to send a few Happy Birthday wishes out to:
Best friend Kristen!! Getting married three weeks from today!

My dear, dear friend Page Six. I love you dearly!

My new friend Travis. Who doesn't read this blog, but if he did, he'd be happy I gave him a Birthday shout out.

Whether or not ya'll know, you share birthdays with:

Season 3 of America's Next Top Model winner Eva Pigford.

Rich Bitch Ivanka Trump.

And the oh so yummy Gavin Rossdale. Who looks sexier now than he ever did when he was in Bush.

So happy birthday everyone! Hope your days are filled with love and laughter!

Wilford Brimley scares me

Disappointment of the day:

For breakfast this week, I've been having egg whites and a piece of toast. I decided to change it up this morning and have some oatmeal and a yogurt. Well I don't know if I just didn't season it right, or what the deal was but MAN that shit was funky! (cue voice in my head Samantha saying to funky spunk guy "you don't know from funky") Anyway, I threw it away and ate my yogurt. I'll just be hungry today and deal with it.

Wah Wah WAHHHHHH

Totes Adorbs of the day

Not sure if this one is Tater Tot or Small Fry....but it's a cute picture!!

This is Halloween....

Despite the possibility of me sitting alone on my couch in a Speedo this year, I'm still really excited for Halloween! It truly is one of my favorite times of the year. I'm so excited, in fact, that I got the sudden urge to post some of my old Halloween costumes. Special thanks goes out to BarbBahr and Melissa for scanning these pictures and sending them to me.

This is me....as a dog. If you'll notice in the coming pictures, all three kids at one time were dressed at the dog. I love that I'm rocking the bangs and liked stripes even back then.

My first year as a vampire. Notice that Patrick is now wearing the dog costume. Where as I was more of a beagle, I imagine Pat is more of a bulldog. No! A pug! He's totally a pug. I'm not sure why I look so depressed. I think perhaps I'm trying to look scary/menacing? Either that or I was counting down the minutes until I could go out and get candy.

Year #2 as a vampire. I believe this was one year later, when we lived in Michigan. Please note the boots.

This was many years later, as vampire #3. I remember this vampire being different because I was telling everyone I was a "modern" vampire. Buffy, Twilight, True Blood---they totally owe me credit. I don't really know what Patrick was....an old Packer fan? Please notice how my parents stuck me in the back of the picture and cut off half of my head in the frame. Stuck in the back row, even back then.

Ugh. I'm so badass, I can't stand it. The Joker. Patrick is the one that really benefits from this blog because while I'm posting pictures of myself in my awkward teen years, Pat is in his prime adorable years. So there you go Patrick. Even though you're voting for McCain, you were an adorable child. My mother takes credit for the makeup, but I'm pretty sure I was the one to tell her what to draw on. I know that Heath Ledger is getting all the credit for being the Joker now...but clearly I was the original.

Rockin' the mad scientist. What I loved about this costume was that there were so many small details that really were awesome. I had a rat, spider, little beakers in my pocket, notepads...loves it.

And now....Melissa is the dog. So cute! This was probably my scariest costume ever. I don't know what, in a million years, possessed me to go as a clown. Because clowns are scary. And it's not like I was trying to go as a scary clown, I was just going as a clown. And look at me! I'm like, 15! What 15 year old goes as a clown!?! Oy.

One of my favorite costumes ever--a dead football player. I was popular this year, so that explains whey I went as a football player. I love how half of my costumes involve dark circles around my eyes. At any rate, another one of my favorite costumes.
I'm curious to know---what was your favorite Halloween costume?

Zac Efron Does a Body Good

Seriously....WHAT is in that kid's water?! I need to get me some of that!

Long Story Short

I feel like the last three days have had enough activities to fill a week!! It was definitely a busy weekend, but a really FUN weekend and there's a lot going on news-wise so let's get started.

Friday night Spencer, Husband, Scotty, Beaux, Brendan and I went to Scotty's sister's Halloween party in Staten Island. It was a really cute house party, and Beaux almost got in a fight with a girl. Which is hilarious. So my night was complete after that happened. What was a bit jarring for me was finding out that half of the people at the party were 18. 18!!!! I went dressed as the Human Torch in an attempt to make a funny little joke...and I think everyone got it. The costume ended up looking a little more tragic than I had planned, but I worked out okay.

My hair is red because it's supposed to be on fire. Get it? It's funny, right? RIGHT?! Husband got some really good pictures so hopefully I'll be able to post those soon.

It really surprised me how much fun the Staten Island Ferry was. It was just really easy and convenient and it was like one big adventure. I crashed on Scotty's couch at 4am and am still finding red spots in my hair. All in all, a really great night.

Saturday morning I had to book it back uptown to prepare for the arrival of Laurie and Mike! Long story short--there is a family that my family has vacationed with practically every summer of my entire life. Seriously, I don't remember a time when they just weren't in my life. Laurie is four years younger than me and we've always been buds. Her fiance, Mike, surprised her with a trip to New York and I was more than happy to accompany them around the city. So I got uptown, met up with them, and we had a blast. Ate at some great restaurants, did some really fun touristy stuff, and then finished the night off with Arriba Arriba margaritas and SNL. A really FULL, but fun day. Pictures will be following, as soon as Laurie gets them uploaded. ;)

Speaking of SNL--Amy Pholer had her baby, ya'll!!!

There are some celebrities that you just know will be good parents, and Amy and Will are two of those. Plus, they named their son Archie. Archie Arnett!! How ADORABLE is that?!

Yesterday I got some breakfast with Laurie and Mike, walked them to Port Authority so they could catch the bus to the Jets game, and then collapsed on the couch for a few hours. I tried to catch up on some TV, but that didn't really happen. Picked Laurie and Mike up, they headed to Chinatown to get their bus, and I went to go help Spencer move. He's moving from the Upper West Side to Hell's Kitchen so it'll be fun to have him closer. The moving went much smoother than I expected and my quads only hurt a little bit today from the massive amounts of stairs we walked.

Unexpectedly met up with some friends for Sunday night beers and one of the guys there had just been broken up with by his boyfriend. Well this poor kid had really been put through it apparently and it was so tragic, it was funny. He was talking about how he wasn't gay before meeting this kid, and about he "did things he never thought he would do" like bake a cake for the guys' birthday, and make the guy collages and a quilt. As each beer was consumed, he got funnier and funnier--tragically speaking. I know it's not polite to laugh and someone else's misfortune but you had to be there--HILARIOUS.

I was chatting with an acquaintance from college on Facebook chat yesterday. Her name is Becky, and she was a couple of years younger than me so we weren't super close but we obviously knew each other and did a number of shows together. I actually think that she was the stage manager for my Senior Project....anyway....she IM's me and is all "I think I saw you on the street on Friday. Were you wearing a classy trenchcoat?" And I was indeed wearing a "classy" trenchcoat on Friday. Long story short, she lives in New York, which I was unaware of. She also lives on my street. She also lives NEXT DOOR TO ME. How crazy is that?! It just shows you how small the world truly is.

Should be a fun week. The Michael Phelps super diet started in full this morning. I had been sort of following a diet plan in the past two weeks but because I have to be in a Speedo in public on Friday...well...it's time to really crunch down. No pun intended.

I still don't know what I'll be doing for Halloween night. The majority of my close friends are heading out of town and my other ones hate Halloween. How can you hate Halloween btw? Candy? Dressing up? Loves it. I keep having this image of me just sitting on the couch in my Speedo drinking a bottle of wine. Which is kind of a funny image when you think about it. Maybe I'll invite tragic quilt boy over to knit with me!!

This and That: Friday Edition

This and that, spit and spat. It's Friday, thank the lord. Going to a fun Halloween party tonight in Staten Island. Yes. Staten Island. I'm going to be riding a ferry to get there. Not this kind of fairy

This one.

It reminds me of the time the girls on Sex and the City took the ferry to judge the fireman stripping contest. I only hope I can drink and Staten Island Iced Tea.
Hung out with Jamie Jamie Moore last night and he brought me the most gorgeous house warming present. An orchid!

What he didn't even know is that I love orchids!! Alanis even has a song called "Orchid" that I really love because I, too, see myself as an orchid and not a rose.

" I'm a sweet piece of work, well intentioned yet disturbed
Wrongly label-ed and under-fed, treated like a rose as an orchid
My friends, as they weigh in, get understandably protective
They have a hard time being objective
So inside we cancel each other out
I'm a sweet piece of work, well intentioned and unloved
Unlabeled and misunderstood, treated like a rose as an orchid
You've brought water to me, making sure my bloom rebounds
You know best of what my special care allows
So I've lived in my blind spot
Thought myself usual when I'm not
And your garden is a nice "

He and I had some drinks and went out to Ben Rosen's birthday and got a little....okay....a lot....drunkity drunk. I woke up at 9:57 this morning.....so :57 minutes late for work. Nice!! Spencer also had a late night hanging with Scotty and Husband and was also late for work. I ran into the pantry and noticed something....fun....about his hair.

What's that your hair is doing on the side there Spenc?

I'm counting down the minutes until I leave. Staten Island party tonight, then tomorrow Laurie and Mike arrive for 24 hours of F-U-N!!!!

Cause You've Had a Bad Day...

I'm not shy about the fact that I don't have very much luck in life. I don't have a bad life, I'm just not very lucky. However, my luck pales in comparison to my roommate Dr. Mike's luck. Back in May, Dr. Mike was hit by a car while running in Columbus Circle. He was the only one in his grad program to not receive a ticket to the recent presidential debates held at his college. Last month his check was one day late being deposited into his account and therefore his rent check bounced. But last night was the kicker. Dr. Mike was out at a bar with his bf and some friends and went to leave. His Bf, Charles, went to kiss him goodbye and was being silly/drunk and so apparently he kissed Dr. Mike on his ear but did a suction thing as well. The Dr. said it felt like someone took a plunger to his ear.

So here I am minding my own biz and in walks Dr. Mike with his hand held to his ear, obviously in severe pain. Apparently it was bleeding too! Anyway, he was off to the ER and I offered to go with him but his Bf ended up manning up and going with him. This morning I wake up and Dr. Mike is curled up on our pull-out couch. They turned the heat on in our building and because his room has no windows it was like an oven. The poor guy! Everyone send Dr. Mike good thoughts because I'm tired of seeing him in the ER!

Another guy who probably isn't having a great day is this guy:

I live across from a school and these are posted everywhere saying the kid lost his trumpet and that he'll offer a reward. Uh....what kind of reward is he going to offer? I'm not going to help this kid look for his trumpet for anything less than $500 and a trumpet can't be much more than that. And who steals a trumpet anyway? Like, who is going to walk down the street being all "ha ha, I got that kid's trumpet. I'm awesome!" Good luck finding your trumpet kid.

Happy Birthday to:

Ryan Reynolds

And Cat DeeleyI love you Cat! Call me next week and we'll have a slumber party! Cuz I know if we hung out we'd be besties!

Game night was such a blast last night. We had a bunch of new people that made the game a whole lot of fun. Plus the teams were evenly matched for the first time in like, ever. So that was pretty cool too. My physical therapy appointment also went really well. My PT said that I had the best "mallet finger" she's ever seen. I guess what that means is....my finger has recovered the best in the shortest amount of time that this doctor has since in the HISTORY of her career.

That's right ya'll. I'm a medical marvel. And she gave me a toy to do exercises with!

PUTTY!!!

Yeah...it's not as fun as it looks. I'd rather have an Etch-o-sketch.

"The Hills" are alive....

I'm having a bad day. Here is why.

1. I pulled a muscle in my back at the gym, and now I can't turn my neck without feeling it.
2. I forgot to put cheese on my salad at lunch and therefore, the salad sucked. Seriously. I was surprised how much a little bit of feta cheese adds to a salad.
3. I was so hungry after lunch that I ate a sucker. My third for the day. Then I had a package of Sprees. Then I had a package of Dots. My candy addiction is out of control, ya'll!
So I was having a bad day, until I watched The Hills. The episode was just so-so but something happened during it to make me laugh. I paused it to talk to someone and when I came back to my screen, I saw this:

Brilliance. Pure joy. I then decided that it was funny to pause the show on other characters too.

In other news, my..friend Scott was on "Fringe" last night and it was really fun to see him!!!

He looked super cute and acted straighter than I've ever seen him act!

I watched with a huge smile on my face....well...until his eyes started bleeding....

Poor Paul the waiter. My friend Natalie also had a callback for "Wicked" today and I'm sure she was amazing. The girls' voice is out of this world--it's fun having very talented friends. I'm sure I'll hear all about the callback at Game Night tonight!

I've got another physical therapy appointment today for my finger after work today. I'm sooooo ready to just be done with this finger crap. Cut it off, I say!
